On an absolutely sweltering Saturday (16 July), Balsall Common Lions and volunteers were collecting donations of food and essential supplies, in our summer foodbank collection.
Over 300 carrier bags of food were collected and sorted for collection / delivery to four local foodbanks. In addition, we received approximately £750 in cash and online donations. This is on top of the Spring Food Bank Collection in May.

It was fantastic and very encouraging to have help from several members of the public, after an appeal for volunteers on social media. Thanks to them all.If you would like to get involved in supporting our food bank collections, our next collection will be on Saturday 19 November … at least the weather may not be quite so hot!
